Berlin Daytrip

We took a short ride up to Berlin today to visit some sights and enjoy the crisp fresh air. We started out at the Brandenberg Gate, then grabbed some traditional German fare for lunch(schnitzel & potatoes). On our way we strolled by the Parliament Building, Humboldt University, Berlin Cathedral and my favorite, the Bentley Dealership.

We went to Checkpoint Charlie and afterwards walked to a nearby area that has a segment of the Berlin Wall that is made into a memorial. Very interesting, it always makes me wonder what will now become history that our children's children will go look at and learn about.

We topped off our afternoon with a visit to the Fernsehturm, how we planned such a crystal clear day is a mystery. The view was gorgeous, we felt like we could see forever. Make sure you catch the photo of our shadow from when we were up in the tower, it's cool. After that it was time to catch the train and head back to Dresden.

One side note: please see the photo of the "one man show" Wurst FOR SALE, I don't know that I'd be comfortable carrying around a grill like this with a propane tank as a backpack, but we have to give him this - he is prepared for the elements, he's got his umbrella, just pray for NO lightning or we've got one heck of a light show!
